How do you feel when you dance? How might you feel if you danced every day for 90 days?

Dance is universal. Bodies innately know how to dance, even without ever taking a single class. (Just look at children!) While there are many different styles of dance, I am referring to the kind of dance that spontaneously moves through you, outside of a specific technique. When you let yourself simply move to a rhythm, free from judgment or self-consciousness, you tap into your body's best-held secret for more ease, vitality, and inner knowing.

Dance is the master regulator. It has the power to calm us down or give us energy. It is the wordless language of the body that whispers a deeper truth that the mind might not yet know. 

 

So, why don't we dance every day?

 

Life's demands easily get in the way. Stress has momentum that can keep us stuck and spinning. However, the best way to release stress is to move it! And you don't need a whole hour at the gym or in a yoga class (although that's nice).

 

You only need 10 minutes. But the secret is 10 minutes Every. Damn. Day.

Dancing Days is a commitment to dancing for 10 minutes every day for 90 days. It's that simple.

 

When you make the commitment to dance every day, you are:

 

  • Making your self-care a priority in a simple, doable, and accessible way.
  • Doing powerful nervous system work, without it feeling like work or needing to follow a specific technique.
  • Letting your body speak its deep truth. This is the best way to know what to do when you are facing a predicament.
  • Giving yourself the gift of having more ease, vitality, and inner knowing.  
  • Powerfully practicing embodiment without it feeling like a practice.

 

Dancing Days begins on March 1, 2024 and ends on May 31, 2024. However, the doors are open until Sunday, March 3 at noon PST. You could start on Sunday and still complete the 90 days. 

 

How? Because it's 90 days plus 2 make-up days. You don't have to be perfect! You also don't need to 'be a dancer' to participate! It's my firm belief that everyone is a dancer regardless if you identify as one.

 

All you have to do is make the commitment. Let's go!

Schedule:

  • There is no schedule! You may dance and check in at any time of day you wish! 
  • However, there will be a live dance to kick off the challenge on March 1, as well as live dances on March 31 and April 30, and on our last day on May 31.
  • All live dances are at 10am PST on Zoom. They will be recorded and posted in the community portal.

Meet Your Guide

Hi, I'm Emily Athena, and I am a dancer.

 

I am also a somatic sex educator, coach, rancher, and the founder of EroSpark Movement. I have helped numerous people in my private practice, classes, and courses find more safety, joy, and trust in their bodies.

I started dancing when I was young and simply never stopped. I have a degree in Contemporary Dance from the North Carolina School of the Arts and worked as a professional dancer and teacher for fifteen years.

When my dance career ended five years ago due to an injury, I stopped dancing completely. At first, this was a relief to my body. I needed a break to rest and recover. After a while though, I noticed that my energy was diminishing. So at the beginning of 2024, I made a commitment to myself to start dancing every day again, but this time without overdoing it. Only 10-15 minutes with no one telling me how to move my body, just letting my body do her dance. 

The results were phenomenal. I began feeling more vibrant and youthful, sleeping better, and having less pain. Perhaps the best result, though, is feeling like myself again.

I want that for you too, and you can have it. Join me in a simple, yet radical commitment to dancing for yourself every day for 90 days.
